Hello!
Today I am going to share my DIY Coffee Scrub that I resourcefully put together on New Year's Eve. I was about to go have a shower before getting ready for the night and thought, I want my skin to look extra special so I came up with this all natural scrub that ended up working wonders for my skin.
I don't drink coffee myself but my husband has a cup every morning so there is no shortage in the house. We have a Keurig machine so he normally brews a cup every morning and leaves the pod in the machine until the next morning (lucky me, no seriously..). I checked the machine and as expected there was a used pod waiting for me. This was the first ingredient.
I cut open the rest of the foil covering on the pod and dumped the coffee grounds into a bowl. Next I added some white sugar (2 tbs), coconut oil (1 tsp) and olive oil (2 tsp) and mixed everything together. It's as simple as that.
I used this scrub mainly on my arms, legs and neck area. This scrub was quite abrasive so if you have sensitive skin I would try it on the back of your hand first and only scrub in 1 or 2 circles then rinse. I however, love abrasive scrubs, I really feel like I am getting all the dead skin cells off so I went to town. I loved how smooth and hydrated my skin felt from the oils. Also I am not sure if I was imaging this or not but I think the coffee gave my skin a little bronze glow for the night!
Recipe Summary
- 1 already brewed Keurig coffee pod
- 1 tbs coconut oil
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 2 tbs sugar (brown or white)
I will definitely be making this again. I loved how smooth and hydrated my skin felt from the oils. Also I am not sure if I was imaging this or not but I think the coffee gave my skin a little bronze glow for the night!
